Note: Elise Theresa Savoie, 86, a native of Houma, a recent resident of Hammond and lifelong resident of Bayou Blue, died Monday, April 9, 2012. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church. Mass will be held at noon Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by her sisters, Estelle Savoie of Waxahachie, Texas and Julie Savoie White and husband, Bon White of Hammond; sisters-in-law, Sandra Savoie and Lucille Savoie; nieces and nephews, Susan White and partner, Nanette Schoen, Bonnie White and husband, Douglas Little, Linda Savoie, Patricia Ricks and husband, Ronald, Mary White Crother and husband, Brian, Susannah Savoie, Ronald Savoie, Elizabeth Savoie Chandler and husband, Jimmy, Michael Savoie and wife, Heather, James McKay and wife, Vicky, Donna Denson and husband, Ricky; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin A. Savoie and Adrienne Edna Hotard Savoie; and brothers, Ronald J. Savoie and James Savoie. She was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. She was employed with Texaco for 44 years. She had a passion for Mardi Gras and was the second queen of the Krewe of Hyacinthians. She also loved her cats, and most especially Grizzly. She was an adventurous traveler. She toured by car throughout the continental United States and Canada, and also traveled through Europe. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
