  I just saw your web page and was hoping you would have something on Jean Baptiste Guidry s/o Pierre
 Guidry and Marcellitte LaForet. I see though that you take a different direction. I would like to say that
 Pierre and Marcellitte were married in 1839 but their first child was Jean Baptiste and according to the 1850
 census records he was born in 1821. Their marriage in 1839 was after a dispensation fro the Bishop of New
 Orleans because Marcellitte was the half niece of Rosalie Denis.
 In asking for the dispensation Pierre said he wanted to legitimize his children. I found this in the University
 of Notre Dame Archives.
