Note: In 1850, for the census of Lafourche Parish, La., Rosalie was listed as Widow Urbain Picou. She was 35 years old. Living with her were her daughters, Zoe age 9 and Eliska age 7. ************* Rosalie was living alone with two daughters, Zoe age 18 and M. Iska age 16, in the year 1860. Had Urbin died by this time or was there a war going on that he was serving in? Maybe more information will turn up. She was living in ward 1 and her family number on the census of that year was 701. On the map it looks as though she lived in or very near to Laurel Valley Plantation which is near Thibodaux, La. She could not read or write and she owned 1000. of real estate property and 600. of person possessions. (1860 Census of Lafourche Parish by Toups and Foret, page 124, # 701) ************** In South Louisiana Records, v. 1, p. 427 reads as follows: Picou, Urabain m. Rosalie LeBlanc Children listed: Zoe; Marie Elisea;. Inventory: 19 Sept. 1840. (Thib. Ct. Hse.:Succ.:Year 1840) ************** South La. Records, v. 2, p. 297 shows an Urbin Picou of St. John the Baptiste Parish, who died 21 May 1843 at age 30. Of the 7 Urbins in this file, Rosalie's husband is very close to the correct age. On the premise that his birth year came from his father's sucession, therefore not 100 percent reliable, and that he had a daughter born in 1843 (3 years after his so called sucession), I am changing his death date to 21 May 1843. **************
