The land claim of Joseph Naquin (# 312) described it as being on the right descending bank of Bayou Lafourche, containing 275.19 superficial acres, bounded on the upper side by land of Pierre A. Dugas and on the lower side by Barthelemy Henry. It was confirmed the land was inhabited and cultivated on 20 Dec. 1803, and it had been continually inhabited and cultivated by the claimant "or those under whom he claims" for more than 10 consecutive years preceding. Descendants of Joseph Jacques Naquin still inhabit this area below Labadieville, La.
