Note: (Medical):As a child may have had food allergies but he apparently caught every sickness around.
At about 5-6, he got smallpox, from either a bad vaccine or from another child. Afterwards he got sinusitis and required a mastoid operation. This was required as the doctor thought he might not survive and was expected to lose most if not all hearing. A slow recovery meant he was delayed a year to go to school. Olga met the doctor in 1944 who was surprised to learn that Herb has adequate hearing to qualify to enter the Navy.
Asthma - diagnosed 1980 with some Bronchiectasis and emphysema.
Arrythmia - diagnosed 2002

Cremated. Ashes bured on the grounds of the Sorrento Centre, Sorrento, BC
