Note: Death Certificate # F22530. Per Willie Long 12/21/92 Grandfather was 84 when he died. 1870 Census lists a Chas Goldsborough age 13 (he was 18) living with
John F. Baxter; (also Mary Baxter ans Samuel Orens) Willie said this name was familiar.
When Alma Phillips nee Goldsborough was asked about Grandfather living with
an uncle, she said "Oh Baxter" but she became confused and did not continue.
Was John Baxter Grandfather's uncle? Was he only 13 in 1870? That would
explain the marriage record of his parents being about two years after we
thought he was born. His Death certificate says his parents were Thomas
Goldsborough and Mary Todd but the record of that marrage recorded in the
Baltimore Sun was about two years later than his birth as noted above.
1880 Census Has Chas E Goldsborough Living at 590 Pennsylvania Ave Baltimore Maryland with Jane Bowen his mother-inlaw and Jane his wife. His age is listed as 24 and his wife Jane R is listed as 19. This would put Charles birth closer to 1856 than 1852 and would also be closer to the 1870 Census data.
