a. Note:   Civil War Veteran. Served with 80th Ohio Regiment (see Memoirs in possession of Michelle L. De Angelo). David and Getrude moved to Princeton, IL in April 1874. When the children were small, then to Topeka in May, 1881. They went to California in April 1908, where he managed a gypsum mill on the desert between Barstow and Needles till its sale in 1919. They lived with Mr. & Mrs. R.W. Torrey, 532 N. Oxford Ave. Los Angeles, untill David's death.
  Had lived in Los Angeles for 17 years at the time of death.
  Recieved a pension of $50 a month for his service in the Civil War.
