Note: He went to Wisconsin with his parents by boa when a boy and settled at Amsterdam on the lake shore in Sheboygan County. For many yhears he was a sailor on the lakes and then worked as a cooper. He removed to Cascade, WI, in 1870; then he removed to Hotchkiss, CO, where he died with pneumonia in his 79th year.
