Phillip Isaac Pratt (Thomas Henry6, William5, William4, John3, William2, Griffin1), fourth child of Thomas Henry Pratt and Frances Irion, was born May 9, 1825, in Leaksville, Rockingham County, North Carolina. Phillip married Nancy "Nannie" Webb Harris, daughter of Jesse Harris and Royal Wesley, December 20, 1847, in Leaksville, Rockingham County, North Carolina. She was born January 1, 1832, in Leaksville, Rockingham County. Ashel Joseph Grogan, who married Phillip Isaac's older sister, Elizabeth, was the bondsman for their marriage. Phillip was a farmer owing land on Matrimony Creek, off Old Goat Road (now Garrett Road) about 4 miles northwest of Leaksville (Eden), Rockingham County, North Carolina. Nancy's grandparents, Nathaniel Harris and Nancy Webb, originally owned this land. Their first child, John, died at childbirth and was buried without a marker. Phillip died at home on the farm, June 18, 1887, and Nancy died five years later on November 29, 1892. Both are buried in the Pratt Cemetery, Leaksville (Eden), Rockingham County, North Carolina (Find A Grave Memorial # 34823871, 34823880). Phillip Isaac and Nancy Harris Pratt had twelve known children:

Land was on old Goat Farm Road, now Garrett Road, off NC 87 north of Eden, North Carolina. He is buried in the old Pratt Cemetery on south side of road. His land was originally owned by Nathaniel Harris and is adjacent to Matrimony Creek in Rockingham County, North Carolina. Asahel Grogan was bondsman for their marriage.

Death of a Valuable Citizen
Mr. Philip I. Pratt, a clever gentleman, and honest, upright man, and one of the best farmers in the county, died at his home, 4 miles northwest of Leaksville, on Saturday night last. He was a valuable citizen and will be much missed by our community. Mr. Pratt was the father of our esteemed townsmen, Thos. R. and Chas. B. Pratt.
