Pratt, 2017 Emily Frances Pratt (Thomas Henry6, William5, William4, John3, William2, Griffin1), ninth child of Thomas Henry Pratt and Frances Irion, was born 1846, in Rockingham County, North Carolina. She married Edward Sterling Harris, son of Jesse Harris and Matilda Odell (Odle), May 12, 1859, in Rockingham County, North Carolina. He was born about 1842. Little is known about Edward and Emily. Edward served in the CSA in Unit 114, 6th Infantry Regiment, North Carolina Volunteers. It is variously reported that he may have deserted, was killed in action, was captured, died in prison, or escaped from prison. If he didn't die during the Civil War, then he abandoned Emily and their two children. After the Civil War, Emily married P. M. Osburn (Osborn, Osborne), son of Robert Osburn, March 15, 1869, in Rockingham County, North Carolina. Nothing is known of Emily's death. Edward and Emily Pratt Harris are believed to have had two children: Jesse Joseph Jesse m. Sarah Ellen Margan and Matilda Harris m. Thomas Jefferson Roberts. P. M. and Emily Pratt Osburn (Osborn, Osborne) are believed to have had one daughter: Molly Osburn. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Served for the CSA during the Civil War. He abandoned his wife, Emily Pratt, and may have deserted, or was killed in action, or captured and died in a Federal prison. Other records support that he was wounded, captured, and escaped from prision. He served in unit 114, Company H, 6th Infantry Regiment, North Carolina CSA.
