Dr. Durward T. Waller, age 81 of 6021 Creola Rd. died early March 31, 1971 in a local hospital. He was born March 17 1890 in Iredell County, N.C. He was the son of the late Moses and Mary Steen Waller. He was reared in Monroe, N.C. and attended Wake Forest College, graduated from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. He opened his office in Charlotte in 1913 and closed it in 1969 after 56 years of practice. He was a member of Caldwell Memorial Presbyterian Church, Charlotte Country Club, Life Member of the Charlotte Dental Society, Member of the American Dental Association. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thurs. April 1, 1971 at Harry and Bryant Chapel in the Oaks, with the Rev Charles L. Kirby, minister Caldwell Memorial Presbyterian Church officiating, Entombment in Oaklawn Mausoleum. Survivors are his wife the former Lillian Callicutt, one son, D.T. Waller, Jr. of Baton Rouge, La., four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Friends are sending memorials to Barium Springs Orphanage. Active pallbearers will be Dr. G.C.Stowe, Dr.Olin Owens, Dr. James Graham, Dr. Milo Hoffman, Dr. Valden Kendrick, and Dr.Ronald Whitson of Whiteville, N.C.
