[see Clark, Murtie J., p. 109] Purchased 100 acres of land from his brother John which was part of his father's original lands in the Neck sold to John. In 1807 Abraham received a Tennessee land grant. At the time of his death, he owned 257 acres. [Nave-Hougland page 17.] Twin brother to Rebecca Nave The first memorial photo shown on the right is a portion of Abraham's original marker found during cemetery excavation in the Summer of 2015. The second photo is the current memorial which is a replacement provided by the US Department of Veteran Affairs in January of 1950. According to family lore, he put his sons to work and would go bear hunting with the Garlands. They always had at least one bear ham in the smokehouse. He was a big man, over six feet tall and strong as a bear. He served in the War of 1812 in Col. John Brown's Regiment, East Tennessee Volunteer Mounted Infantry. Abraham attended Sinking Creek Baptist Church and Stoney Creek Baptist Church. He purchased 100 acres from John Nave that had been previosly sold by his father. He owned 257 acres at the time of his death. On his gravestone - Pvt. 2nd Gunman Tennessee Vols. War of 1812. He also served in the Indian wars as a private.
