Note: --- "Mom, Kathleen Olah sent me this...Hope all up there are O.K. We've had the flu now for two weeks...Billy passed his exam at Post Office for Marines. Sent his application today so time will tell whether or not he'll be accepted. He wants it so bad...Love, Betty" (Source 3) This is Betty Jean (Sumner) Norris' note to her mother, Nina Marie (Ridge) Sumner. It was written on a thin onion-skin type paper that had a poem printed on the other side. Kathleen Olah was presumably a friend of Betty Jean and Willard Norris. "Hope all up there are O.K." means everyone that lived up north in Indiana. Billy is their son and his application dates this letter between 1967-1969. JDS/MKF
