Note: --- In 1840, an unknown male, age 10-15, is living at the residence of John Moore. We believe this is Conrad Cutts. JDS/MKS --- Considering the fact that John Moore and Levica his wife thought they were the same age in 1850, we think that they believed this in 1840. Unfortunately, on the 1840 census John was mismarked and is found as being a 15-20 yr. old male instead of being logically in the 20-30 yr. age group. JDS/MKS --- Miscellaneous. "An Old Settlers' Society has been in existence in this county for several years, . . . We have this mention of the proceedings of the society, copied from the Noblesville Ledger, of September 4, 1874: An Old Settlers' meeting was held at Eagletown, August 25, 1874, in the grove south of Union Church. The meeting was called to order by Samuel Smith. William Lane was elected President, Joseph Pettijohn and Henry Johns, Vice-Presidents, and L. B. Semmons, Secretary. . . Speeches were made by the following persons: Jonathan Colburn, William Lane, H. G. Finch, John Moore, Charles Stout, Joseph Pettijohn, John Fertig, William Frost, Elias Barker, Phineas Pierson, William Dye, and Mr. Byers." ---Adams Township. Henry Moore, M. D.
