Notes
a. Note:   --- History of Hamilton County, Indiana. Adams Township. Sheridan. "Business Directory...undertakers, Mace & Sackman..."
... I believe Mace is James Mace and Sackman is Jacob Sackman in this source. JDS
--- In 1850, John and James Mace are living in the same household, next door to David Fodrea, who has Jane Mace living with him, and Jesse Mace is living with Atnele Chance, another close neighbor. JDS/MKF
 --- "...MACE, James to Juliann Sackman...Appl 2-2-1849...Book 1 Page 190..."
 --- "...John MACE...L Feb 3 1849...Juliann Sackman..."
... The marriage records available to us on Juliann Sackman show that James Mace applied for and John Mace got the license to marry. This causes us to assume that (a) the probate clerk in 1849 made an honest mistake in recording the groom's name, since both brothers may have been there, (b) James and John may have looked very similar in appearance, whether they were twins or not, and (c) whoever copied the original records in 1965 made an honest mistake by reading James and writing John.  ... The death year on Julia Mace's cemetery marker is wrong in this source. It should be 1923. JDS
