Note: ollment he gave his birth date as November 6, 1928. He was actually 16 years of age at the time. At the time of enrollment he was living at 5774 Winslow Avenue, Detroit Michigan. He had just completed the 10th grade at North Western High School. At the time of enrollment he was working as a stock boy at a Kroger grocery store. He was honorably discharged at MCAS, Cherry Point, North Carolina on January 28, 1948 as a Private First Class. He had spend 2 months overseas. He was on the aircraft carrier USS Siboney in 1947. His principal military duty was as a aviation mechanic.
Jeff worked as an auto mechanic for Acme Copy Co, Livernois Ave, in Detroit from Nov 1951 to Dec 1952.
He re-enlisted in the Marine Corps on January 13, 1953 while living at 9053 Quincy St. in Detroit. While in the service he took a Wheel Vehicles Mechanic Course. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on June 1, 1954. He was discharged on January 12, 1956 and was recommended for re-enlistment. After his discharge he went to live at his grand-mother's house at 9015 Petoskey St.
Jeff worked as a auto mechanic for the city of Detroit in 1964.
