 MONTGOMERY SPROWLS
  West Finley, Oct. 20. - Montgomery Sprowls, aged 75, one of the representative men of Washington county and a well known man of this section, died Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock of pneumonia.
  Mr. Sprowls was a son of James and Elizabeth Sprowls and was born and spent his entire life in West Finley township. He was active in church and community affairs, having been a member for 50 years of the Windy Gap Presbyterian church and serving for many years as an elder of the church. In politics, he was a Republican and held the office of school director and other township positions. He was a veteran of the Civil war, serving with Company K, 16th Pennsylvania cavalry, until he was wounded at Petersburg, after which he was honorably discharged. His illness was of only four or five days' duration. Two weeks ago his sister, Mrs. Molly Jenkins, died of the same malady, after only one week's illness.
  Mr. Sprowls' wife died about six years ago. There survive the following children: Frank, of Washington, Norton, of West Finley; Dr. Garrett, of Pittsburg; Mrs. Edward Jenkins, of Dallas, W. Va., Mrs. W. (sic) W. Sutherland, who lived with her father. Two brothers also survive, Wyit, of West Finley, and M. V. Sprowls, of Washington.
  Funeral services will be held at the late home Sunday at 1:30 o'clock and will be conducted by the Rev. Samuel Davis of the Windy Gap church. The interment will be in the West Finley cemetery.
