Hopkins
Leafy M. Hopkins, 92, of 725 Fayette Street, Washington, died at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 1981, in Washington Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born August 22, 1888 (NOTE: THE YEAR OF BIRTH CONFLICTS WITH INFORMATION FOUND IN ANOTHER SOURCE) , in West Finley.
Surviving are three sons, Charles W. Hopkins of Steubenville, Ohio, George I. Hopkins of Washington and Robert H. Hopkins of Albuquerque, N.M., a brother, Alva Bills of Washington; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, William George Hopkins, died March 11, 1970. Four daughters, Dorothy and Esther Louise Hopkins, Mildred Yost and Florence Mae DeSensi, and two sons, Alfred and John G. Hopkins Sr., are also deceased.
HOPKINS - Friends of Leafy M. Hopkins of 725 Fayette Street, Washington, who died Tuesday, June 23, 1981, will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at the Hummel & Barnhill Funeral Home, Inc., 585 Fayette Street, Washington, where services will be held Friday, June 26, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. J.W. Lofgren officiating. Burial in Washington Cemetery.
