Oleson, as she was known at the time of her marriage in Iron Co., MI, might have been the Maria Elisabet Persdotter, b. 1878 in Undersåker, Jämtland, Sweden as listed in the 1890 Census for Jämtland. This Maria Elisabet Persdotter's step-father was Carl Olofsson, b. 1844 in the 1890 Census and her mother as Märit Simonsdotter Rådin, b. 1844. Maria's parents were listed as Karl Oleson and Martha Sunonson (Märet Simonsdotter) on the marriage certificate. Maria's last name in the 1890 Census - Persdotter - indicates her natural father as Per. Her birth record lists her father as Per Persson, though her parents were never married, nor lived together.
