Croxton, 96, of LaPrairie died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1993, at her home. She was born Aug. 3, 1897, near Golden, the daughter of Alfred M. and Cora Adeline (Shank) Peck. She married J. Dwight Croxton on Oct. 19, 1916, in Quincy. He died June 3, 1989. She attended Washington School in Huntsville Township in Schuyler County. She was a member of Shiloh Methodist church and serviced [served] as church organist and pianist for many years. She was a member of United Methodist Women and the Shiloh Unit of Schuyler County Home Extension. She is survived by four sons, Wallace R., Joel, and Robert B., all of LaPrairie and Harold L. of Coopersburg, Pa.; one daughter, Mrs. Leslie "Joan" D. Long of Sebring, Fla.; 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, five brothers, one sister and one grandson [Jeffrey Lynn Croxton]. Services were Monday, Jan. 3, 1994, at the Huntsville Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Jenkins and Dixie Croxton officiating. Burial was in Huntsville Cemetery. Hamilton Funeral Home of Augusta was in charge of services. Memorials may be made to the Schuyler-Cass Home Health Department or to the charity of the donor's choice.
