Note: Thomas Robert Nihart, 85, of 181 N. Elkhart Ave., died Dec. 21, 2004, in Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Oct. 13, 1919, in Elkhart to Thomas S. and Wilma (Plank) Nihart.
He is survived by two daughters, Mayre Jo Madlem of Ocklawaha, Fla., and Jenny Lee (Randy) Austin of Elkhart; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald L. Nihart of Elkhart; and a sister, Mary E. (Carl) Wetzel of Bristol.
A sister, Lena Mae Dilley, preceded him in death.
There will be no services. His body has been donated to Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. Grinsteiner Funeral Home, 1601 E. New York St., Indianapolis, was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Nihart graduated from Bristol High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He was a member of Moose Lodge 599 in Elkhart.
