May 1, 1876 Scrip issued; claim # 24 (RG15, Series D-II-8-a, Vol. 1319, Reel C-14925, Aid: 15-19) Oct 9, 1878 Made scrip affidavit at Winnipeg: I, Sarah Westway, wife of Simon Westway, of St. Andrews, Lisgar. say That Leah Bird was born on or about 3rd Nov. 1869 and that she was the child of Joseph Bird a Half Breed and of Sarah Bird now Westway a Half Breed. The said Sarah Bird is a Half Breed Head of Family, and was residing in the Province of Manitoba, on the 15th July, 1870.
