Notes
a. Note:   ROSE ANNE Thomas Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at theRed River Nursing Home, Selkirk, at the age of 84 years. Rose leaves to mourn her passing her one remaining brother Frank Orvis (Helen); sons, Howard (Elaine), Lloyd (Linda), Patrick (Pamela), Daniel (Susan); and her daughter Margo. She was predeceased by her husband of many years Ralph Andre Thomas; and by her son Richard Allan; and her parents, Alice and Isaac Orvis; sister Mary Ellen; brothers, Joseph, Benson, Richard, Reuben, Patrick, Louie, Bobbie; and step-grandson Jason. Rose was born in Balsam Bay and later lived at Matheson Island and Selkirk, MB. In past years, she was very active with the Manitoba Metis Federation. She was also active with the Catholic Women's Auxillary and with the Selkirk Friendship Center. She lived her life to the fullest. In the earlier part of her family life, Rose and Ralph took in many children who were relatives or just young people needing a place to live. These children then became a part of the Thomas family. Prior to her long battle with Parkinson's disease, Rose enjoyed many good times and fun with her best friend Ruby. Rose truly loved all of her 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and she will be missed by all of them. A sacred fire has been lit to guide our mother on her journey. The family is holding a wake at 12 Michael Bay, St. Andrews, MB. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 4 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Marguerite's Church at Traverse Bay, with Fr. Lavel Cloutier officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to service time. Interment to follow in the churchyard cemetery. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
