  THOMASVILLE - James H. Whitesell, formerly of Archdale, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Britthaven of Davidson in Thomasville. He was born May 18, 1923, in Guilford County to the late Clayton Harrison Whitesell and Ella Ingle Whitesell, and was a 1940 graduate of Randleman High School.
  He spent his career mostly in the textile and furniture industries, and was retired from Jones Frames and the Blacksmith Shop. In the late 1950s, he was an insurance agent with Prudential Insurance Company in High Point.
  He was a member of Cedar Square Friends Meeting and the Veva Davis Sunday School Class. On November 8, 1941, he married the former Myra Davis Whitesell of Randolph County, who survives at Britthaven of Davidson.
  Also surviving are his three children: Jim Whitesell and his wife, Jane, of Palm Coast, Fla.; Carol Beane and her husband, Darrell, of Thomasville; Phil Whitesell and his wife, Sherri, of Charlotte; one sister, Eloise Lawrence of Asheboro; eight grandchildren, Eddie Whitesell and his wife, Angela, of Trinity; Andy Whitesell and his wife, Monica, of Tucson, Ariz.; Chuck Whitesell of Vail, Ariz.; Scott Beane and his wife, Lori, of Trinity; Jason Beane of Charlotte; Maria Beane Dickenson and her husband, Kris, of High Point; Geoffrey Whitesell of Boca Raton, Fla.; and Emily Whitesell of Corolla, N.C.
  Mr. Whitesell also had six great-grandchildren: Patrick Whitesell, Emilia Whitesell, Kayden and Lilly Beane, and Kamryn and Trey Dickenson.
  Visitation will be held in the Cedar Square Friends Meeting fellowship hall on Saturday, January 31 at 2 p.m., followed by a memorial service in the sanctuary at 3 p.m.
  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Playground Fund of Cedar Square Friends Meeting, 7546 Harlow Road, Archdale, N.C., 27263. The family also will receive friends at the home of Darrell and Carol Beane in Thomasville.
