  David Allen Whitesell, age 90, Troy died Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at his home.
 Mr. Whitesell was born October 17, 1927 in Alamance County, NC the son of the late Delis Herbert Whitesell and Alice Irene Jeffreys Whitesell. He served in the Navy during World War II.
 He was Vice President and pilot of Troy Lumber Company, and former President and owner of Taylor Homes Corporation of Troy. He was a former Rotarian, on the Board of Directors at Montgomery Community College, member of the American Legion and former Elder in the Troy Presbyterian Church.
 He is survived by his wife: Leslie Katherine Taylor Whitesell; two sons: David Allen Whitesell, Jr. (Roxanne) of Troy, NC and Leslie Taylor Whitesell (Angela) of Troy, NC; grandchildren: Justin David Whitesell (Kristi), David Allen Whitesell III (Amanda), Lillian McGuire (John), Adam Leslie Taylor Whitesell, Amber Duran (Jesse), Kristen Cocchiola, and Nicholas Park; great-grandchildren: Noah Whitesell, Odin Whitesell, John Paul McGuire, Jesse Taylor McGuire, Kameron Duran, Karter Duran, Destin Cocchiola; two sisters: Mary Frances Mills, and Linda Upole (Larry); two brothers: Fred E. Whitesell (Linda) and Kenneth Mitchell Whitesell (Deelie); two sisters In law: Libby Whitesell and Hannah Whitesell. He was predeceased by his brothers: L. Vernon Whitesell, Leonard G. Whitesell, Mark L. Whitesell, D. H. Whitesell, Jr. and Max R. Whitesell, and one sister, Ferne Bunch.
 A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Troy Presbyterian Church, with visitation to follow at the residence. Burial will be private.
 To assist in parking, attendees may park at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. with shuttle service available to and from church, visitation at the home and Funeral Home.
 Memorials may be made to Troy Presbyterian Church, 202 E. Main Street, Troy, NC 27371.
