  Doris Whitesell Johnson
  ELON - Doris Whitesell Johnson, 86, of Westbrook Avenue, Elon passed away at the Hospice Home in Burlington at 3:15 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014.
  A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Charles Buford Johnson and the daughter of the late Marshall McKinley Whitesell and the late Geneva Murray Whitesell. She was a member of Apple's Chapel Christian Church where she was a member of the Helping Hands Sunday School Class. Her employment included working for A & P Grocery Stores, Elon College, Burlington Hand Bags, and Textile Sales Room where she retired.
  In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, the Rev. Rickard "Ricky" Neal Johnson and wife Tamra of Burlington and James "Ronnie" Johnson and wife Joyce of Gibsonville; one daughter, Kim Johnson Harper of Elon; five grandchildren, Tracy Johnson Schmidt and husband Ian, Lindsey Johnson Allison and husband Andrew, Olivia Johnson, Charlie Harper, and Matt Harper; and two great-grandsons, Austin Andrew Allison and Clayton-James Neal Bell.
  In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Marshall Johnson; two sisters, Coleen Ellington
  and Mildred Trogdon; and two brothers, Roy Whitesell and Sherman Whitesell.
  The family will receive friends at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
  The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. by her son, the Rev. Rickard "Ricky" Neal Johnson and the Rev. Curtis Pruitt.
  Memorials may be made to the Hospice League of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
