  Helene S. Whitesell
  ELON - Mrs. Grace Helene Smith Whitesell , age 91, of 1018 N.C. 87 North, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2007, at the Hospice Home.
 A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Otis B. Whitesell , and daughter of the late Ubert Coleman and Verdie Jane Maude Faucette Smith . She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, the Willing Workers Sunday school class, a lifetime member of the Methodist Women, and she organized the MYF of the church. Mrs. Whitesell was employed by Holt Hosiery for many years, but later retired from the Admissions Dept. of Memorial Hospital of Alamance. After retirement she volunteered as a Pink Lady at the hospital.
 Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Otis B. Whitesell of the home; daughters, Hilda Deneece Hodge and husband, Bill, of Burlington, Paula Mogle of Burlington, and Iris Trent and husband, Joe, of Elon; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Louise Pender of Mebane and Margaret Barber of Gibsonville; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Smith of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Mitchell Smith and Lacy Smith ; and a son-inlaw, Everett Mogle.
 Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at Shiloh United Methodist Church by the Rev. Randy Hobbs, and the Rev. Gary Loftis. Interment will follow in Shiloh United Methodist Church cemetery. Mrs. Whitesell will remain at Lowe Funeral Home until taken to the church for the service.
 The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6 to 8 this evening and at other times at the home.
