  Mr. Paul R. Smith
 BURLINGTON - Mr. Paul R. Smith , 88, of 7350 Shoe Road, Burlington, died Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 8:40 a.m. at his residence. He was the husband of the late Ruth I. Smith , son of the late Albert L. Smith and Lizzie Barber Smith , and a native of Guilford County. Mr. Smith was retired from Hinshaw Yarns, a lifelong member of Brick Reformed United Church of Christ, having served in all aspects of the church.
 Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bonnie S. Harmon and husband, Sonny, of Burlington; a son, Mr. Wayne Smith and wife, Gloria, of Emerald Isle; grandchildren, Mr. Brad Harmon and wife, Tyra, of Graham and Ms. Heather Smith and fianc‚, Steve Stover, of Raleigh; a sister, Mrs. Helen Horney Whitesell, of Whitsett. He was preceded in death other than his wife and parents, by twin sisters, Catherine and Carlene Smith , and Mrs. Ruth S. Clapp; brothers, Mr. Richard Smith and Kelly Smith .
 The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, at Brick Reformed United Church of Christ with the Rev. Jon Bailey, and Dr. Emmett Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
 The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening, and at the residence at other times.
 The family wishes to express thanks for the loving care provided by the caregivers: Naomi Carroll, Tasha Goins, Emma Howard, Ann Hunt, Shirley Kime, Lois Todd, and Ruth Worth and also to Dr. Richard Letvak along with Sharon Johnson and Angela Lloyd of Hospice.
 Flowers are accepted, however memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or to Brick Reformed United Church of Christ Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 27, Whitsett, N.C. 27377.
