Note: N318 6/4/2004 Mrs. Hilda Whitesell Whitaker GRAHAM - Mrs. Hilda Whitesell Whitaker, 84, of 805 N. Main St., died at 10 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several years of declining health. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Russell L. Whitaker, and the daughter of the late Joseph Whitesell and Lillie Murray Whitesell. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elon. Survivors include two sons, Mr. Richard Whitaker and wife, Ellen, of Gibsonville and Mr. Steve Whitaker and wife, Carlie, of Graham; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Curtis of Gibsonville and Mrs. Norma Mitchell of Burlington; a grandchild, Mrs. Alicia Ward; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Ward and Maisey Ward. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Small and Mrs. Inez Hinshaw; and three brothers, Mr. Roy Whitesell, Mr. Maurice Whitesell, and Mr. Raymond Whitesell. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004, at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Randy Maynard. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, and at other times at the residence of a son, Steve Whitaker, 1019 Pineland Drive, Graham.
