  John Alexander "Alex" Keck
  BURLINGTON - Mr. John Alexander "Alex" Keck, 89, passed away at his residence Sunday, June 6, 2016, at 3:30 a.m. after several months of failing health, surrounded by his wife and close friends.
  A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Joyce P. Keck, who survives, and the son of George Rogers Keck and Minnie Jane Whitesell Keck, both deceased.
  Alex graduated from E.M. Holt High School in 1944 and was a member of the Antique Caterpillar Club. He was owner of Keck Grading and Construction for 68 years and loved building ponds, roads and moving dirt on his beloved Caterpillar equipment and continued working until age 87.
  In addition to his wife of almost 50 years (July 1), survivors include two nieces, Jennie Keck Hallsey (James), of Fleetwood, NC and Helen Stith Keck (George- deceased) of Ceres, VA. Alex also left behind his dear and loyal friend, Roy L. Cook.
  The family will receive friends at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday, June 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. and at other times at the residence.
  Funeral services will be in the Rich and Thompson Chapel on Wednesday, June 8, at 1 p.m. with viewing one hour prior to the service. Officiating will be the Rev. Ben Bishop. Burial will follow in St. Marks Church cemetery.
  The family wishes to offer their special thanks to the staff and caregivers of Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell and in-home caregiver, Robin Cain.
