  Ruth W. Whitesell
  BURLINGTON - Mrs. Ruth Wyatt Whitesell , age 85, of 505 Alamance Road, Suite 106, passed away Monday, December 4, 2006, at her home.
 A native of Chatham, Virginia, she was the wife of the late John William Whitesell , and the daughter of the late Deck and Minnie McDowell Wyatt. She was a member of Dry Fork United Methodist Church in Chatham, Va., and attended Powerline Church of the Nazarene. She retired from Burlington Industries after 57 years of service. Ruth had a smile for everyone and got pleasure from caring for and assisting her family and other people.
 Survivors include her son, Jerry Whitesell of Burlington; daughter, Evelyn W. Brown and husband, Larry, of Elon; grandson, Travis Brown of Boone, N.C.; and sister, Irene Lumpkins of Danville, Va.
 She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Houston "Buster" Wyatt; sisters, Catherine W. Jennings and Maggie Wyatt.
 Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Tim Taylor, and the Rev. Darrel Kroeze. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Whitesell will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service.
 The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home of her daughter, 110 Georgetowne Drive, Elon.
