  Floyd "Junie" Everette Clapp, Jr.
  BURLINGTON - Floyd "Junie" Everette Clapp, Jr., 86, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born in Guilford County on October 1, 1932 to the late Floyd Everette Clapp, Sr. and Myrtle Smith Clapp, and was the husband of 61 years to Shirley Ann Greeson Clapp who survives.
 Junie's vocation was a brick mason, but he also spent many hours farming and growing vegetables. He loved the outdoors and was an avid follower of baseball. He also loved spending time with all his family but especially his grandchildren. Junie was a life-long member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ. He was a strong Christian and showed kindness to everyone. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
  Survivors other than his wife, Shirley Clapp include his sons, Scotty Clapp and wife Angela, Kem Clapp and wife Von; a daughter, Tammy Wright; grandchildren, Chloe Wright, Hudson Clapp, James Schoolfield, Mia Shoffner and Chase Shoffner; a sister, Lucy Wagoner; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings.
 The celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ by Rev. Kristin Gerner-Vaughn with the inurnment to follow in the church's memorial garden which he helped build in 2000. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary following the inurnment.
