 Mr. Ellis Durant Allen
  MEBANE - Mr. Ellis Durant Allen, 87, of 2468 U.S. 70, died at noon, Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at his residence after several years of declining health.
  A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Annie Delithan Clapp Allen, who survives, and the son of the late Albert Charlie Allen and Rachel Hannah Sykes Allen. He was a retired supervisor for Dow Badische Yarns in Mebane and was a member of Mebane United Methodist Church.
  Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Jo Ann (John) Fox of Browns Summit; a son, Mr. Dan (Nancy) Allen of Swansboro; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
  The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane by Mr. Brandon Trivett. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane.
  The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home.
 Flowers will be accepted. Memorials may be made to Mebane United Methodist Church, 200 S. Fourth St., Mebane, N.C. 27302.
