  William Glenn Welborn
  HAW RIVER - Mr. William Glenn Welborn, 95-year-old resident of Haw River, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
 A native of Guilford County, he retired from Cone Mills and worked at Haw River Parks and Recreation Department from age 80 to 90. He was a charter member of the Haw River Fire Department, a World War II veteran serving in Europe, and a member of the VFW and American Legion.
 He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary Whitesell Welborn; daughter, Sheila Pagura; two grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; and sister, Gaynell Poe.
 He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Stella Brown Welborn.
 The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by Pastor Frederick Bunts. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
 The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 7 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening.
