We did our lookups at the U yesterday. I'm sorry to report there were no obituaries in either Chicago paper for William. We started our search on Friday November 10th and looked through the Daily News and the Tribune up to and including the 18th. There was nothing

Hello Michael: For the children's DOBs with a father forenamed W(illiam), I found 0 rcds in and around that date in Co. Donegal. For William and Catherine's M rcds, I found ditto. For William McIntire B 1822 +/- 2 yrs, Co. Donegal, with the father's forename unknown, I found 1 rcd in 1823, Moville Upper CI parish. Note - finding records is a correlation process. Generally, younger rcds are more likely to have survived than ones of greater antiquity. I have found the reverse here. The probability that William's rcd is due to random chance is high. Hope this helps.

  thanks for your query,
I like to be honest from the outset and I feel obliged to tell you that you that I cannot go any further with this nor do I think any other researcher can , which is a disappointment I know.
If you want to throw away money it would be possible to dredge
. through Donegal records until one finds a William Mc Intyre or maybe a few of that name and then convince oneself that one of them must be your ancestor. Believe it or not some people do that .
You will find a few of that name of course in a free search of Tithe Applotment Books circa 1830 and and Griffith's Valuation circa 1850 and looking at William's age quite possible one of those in the Tithes could be his father or uncle and 20 or so years later in Griffith's those listed could be his brothers.
sorry I can't help you further sean wallace I assume your ancestors were Roman Catholic and unfortunately there are no RC records available back to the 1820s for Co. Donegal. I also looked for the 1842 marriage and the 1843 baptismal record with no success. The Griffiths survey was conducted around 1858 in Co. Donegal which would have been after William left for Scotland. There are a good number of McIntyre's in the Griffiths for Donegal. See www.askaboutireland.ie
I checked all of the Catholic parishes in Co. Donegal. For some reason none of the Catholic records exist for the early part of the 19th century. Donegal is the most difficult county to research Catholic records. Killybegs records start in 1850.
Unfortunately I was unable to find any entries in our scotland Poor Law records relating to William, Catherine, William or Mary McIntyre during the given time period, and under the Parish of Birth field.
