Notes
a. Note:   A message from skadelhi: Hello "kriend", I was interested to note a DNA match and relationship between our two lines. We were just out in California three weeks ago, and have nephews living in Moorpark and also in the LA area near Hollywood. All are from our related line. In looking over your family tree, I appreciate your huge effort. We are related through the Beck/Keller family. My two times great grandmother is Margaretha Barbara Keller and she married Johann Michael Beck in Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1500-1985...1848, #2 at top of page. I have been to the church that they were married in, and the church that Johann Michael was baptized in...both outside of Stuttgart (where my son lived for three years). Margaretha was born in 1818 as you have in your family tree but you have no other known information for her. Since that is my direct line and she is my 2nd gg I can fill you in on quite a lot of that line from when she came to America - Wisconsin. I have a photocopy of her photo. She lived to be 95 years old and died 4 March 1914 in Janesville, Rock Wisconsin. Her birth was 7 August 1818 in Gröningen, Schwäbisch Hall, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. They had five children, the first son Georg Leonhardt (Leonard) Beck was born in Germany in 1849 and died in 1922. Margaret (Aunt Maggie) was born in 1852 in Wisconsin; John was a twin also born in 1852 who died in infancy; then came my great grandmother Rosa (Rosina) who was born in 1854 and died in 1898. She married my great grandfather, George Frederick Boehm and they had five daughters. Rosa died and left her husband with five girls to raise. He was also from Schwäbisch Hall, Germany and we know that Boehm family well...both the ones in Germany and the many that live in the midwest. There was one more child born to Margaretha and Johann Michael, Aunt Katie as my mother called her...Catherine born in 1857 and died in 1930. If you would like to follow more on the German family, I too would be very interested. I do know that the Marriage certificate for Keller and Beck is the correct one for our family and took place just Northeast of Stuttgart in Gröningen. It is a small village - the main church is in Crailsheim which you should be able to find on the map. Johann Michael was born in a suburb of Stuttgart now called Esslingen, but was Bernhausen in earlier days before it split into a couple districts. The train to that part of the city of Esslingen still uses the Bernhausen route. We went there a lot with my son's family...to the Christmas Market and to a huge swimming pool complex, as well as to play black light miniature golf!!! There is also a beautiful "Fairytale Gardens" park in that area and a castle. During the early part of those past three years visits, I did not know that GG Beck was born in that same area. I hope I haven't totally bored you with this side of your family. Please email me at skadelhi@@gmail.com if you would like to connect. I hope that the information that I have provided can be of use to you as well. Thanks for reading through this!!! ;-) Sandie
