Notes
a. Note:   Death of Squire Mansfield, of Lonaconing On Wednesday last Squire John Mansfield died at his residence in Lonaconing, after an illness of a few days. Mr. Mansfield was born in Virginia, but has been a resident of this county for many years. He was about 44 years old. He had been a magistrate for several years. His remains were take to Westernport on Thursday and interred in the Catholic cemetery. He left a wife and six children. The family have been sorely afflicted, two sons having died last year within a month or two of each other. The Squire was an industrious and honest citizen and well liked by all who knew him, and with whom he came in contact.
