  Leonhard KELLER
Death early Monday morning claimed another of our older and respected citizens in the person of Mr. Leonhard KELLER. Mr. KELLER had been ailing for some considerable time and his death was not wholly unexpected. The deceased was born in Koenigsruh, Wuertenburg, Germany on October 11, 1829, which made him nearly 80 years old at the time of death.
During the year 1852 he came to America and settled at Waukesha, Wis., where he resided for three years and in 1855 he came to the town of Farmington, this county. In the same year he was united in marriage to Miss Margaretha STROEBEL and to their union there were born 12 children, two of whom died in infancy.
The surviving near relatives and children are, one sister, Mrs. BECK, of Janesville; five sons, Michael, of Neilsville; John of Rome; William, of this city; Fred of the town of Farmington; Leon, of Elkhorn; five daughters, Mrs. Henry BROETZ, of Fountain City, Wis.; Mrs. Math. CASSIDY, of Chicago; Mrs. Charles TUCKWOOD, of Denver, Col.; Mrs. Anton Miller, of Whitewater, and Miss Lillian, who resides in this city, and fifteen grandchildren.
Mr. KELLER was a man of generous disposition, one who always esteemed his neighbors and friends and was in return esteemed by them. Twelve years ago he moved from the farm in the town of Farmington to Whitewater, where he resided for two years and then he came to Jefferson, which has since been his home.
The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at one o’clock at the house following which the body will be taken to the Zion cemetery near Helenville for interment. The Rev. HOFFMANN of this city will officiate.
