Notes
a. Note:   STRÖBEL, STROEBEL, or STROBEL? An umlaut is two dots above a vowel. The origin of the German umlaut is an abbreviated "e", i.e. the vowel is influenced by the following (semi-) vowel "e" in a process called apophany, therefore the correct transliteration of an umlaut is to use an "e" after the vowel. Therefore STRÖBEL becomes STROEBEL.

Mrs. Margaretha Keller, nee Stroebel, whose demise on Monday of last week we mentioned in a few words in our last issue, was born in the Kingdom of Wuertenberg in 1834 and came to America at the age of 19 years, her folks settling in the Town of Farmington. She was married to Leonard Keller in 1854 and lived with him for about twenty years in Farmington, moving then to the Town of Jefferson and from there, about eight years ago, to our city. Her husband died last June. Four sons and four daughters survive her, viz. Michael, of Neillsville; John, of Rome; William, of the city; and Fred, of the Town of Jefferson; Mrs. Sarah Cassidy, of Chicago; Mrs. Emma Tuckwood, of Denver; Mrs. Maggie Miller and Mrs. Lillian Powell, both of Whitewater. Mrs. John Kohl of Jefferson is a sister of the deceased.
Mrs. Margaretha Keller was ever a faithful wife and loving mother, well liked and highly respected by all who knew her, and an earnest member of the church. The funeral took place last Friday from the church of the Evangelical Association in this city to the Zion cemetery near Helenville, Rev. J. C. Hoffmann conducting the burial rites.
