 PIEDMONT, W. Va., May 25, 1988
 Mrs. Mansfield, 80 years of age, the venerable mother of Captain Mansfield, the popular passenger conductor on the Cumberland and Pennsylvania railroad, fell on the stairs with such force that it broke her hip. Dr. J. B. Miller was called and set the fracture, which proved to be a very serious one. Mrs. Mansfield's condition is very serious and owing to her age and health, her recovery is looked upon as being very doubtful.
