DIES HERE ON FRIDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Laura A. DAMRON, wife of George A. DAMRON, Sr., were held at the Byrne Funeral Parlors. Rev P. H. Hayley and Rev C. J. Oleson officiated. Eastern Star services were held at the West Selma Cemetery. Mrs. DAMRON died on Friday at the age of 67 years. She was a native of New Mexico, having been born while her parents were en route to California in a covered wagon. Her father, Sam STROUD, was one of the early settlers at the Academy on Dry Creek and most of her childhood was spent there. Forty years ago Mr. and Mrs. DAMRON came to Selma and they were active in the many enterprises of the young community. They celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on August 11 of this year. Besides her husband, Mrs. DAMRON leaves two daughters, Mrs. Clyde F. BROWNING of Los Angeles and Mrs. Sydney L. GLASS of Fresno; one son, George A. DAMRON, Jr., of Fresno; three grandchildren, Sondra Lee BROWNING, Laurel Ellen GLASS, and Jack DAMRON; two sisters, Mrs. Isabella RICHARDS of Los Angeles and Mrs. Martha WILSON of San Diego; and three brothers Press and Thomas Hill of Phoenix Ariz. Ira Wesley STROUD of Clovis.
