My great grandmother came across the plains and arrived in California in 1852. She taught one of the first Sunday Schools in the northern part of the State. Her name was Elizabeth Dodge. My grandmother, her daughter, Mrs. F.A. Hill was born in 1856 on the spot where the capitol now stands. There is a large family of us, all born in the State: Mrs. W.I. McDonald, Cantel; Mrs. B.L. Hunsinger, Brown; Mrs. R.L. Gordon, Inyo; Mrs. S.K, Phillips, Inyo; Miss Mary McDonald; and Mrs. Salivador Heinemann, Venice. Mrs. E.C. Mahurin

I don't think this was Elizabeth because Mary Emma had William in 27 Jan 1872. Who were the children if this was Elizabeth?
