In July 1996 Arlene had a serious fall in her apartment in Bethlehem, PA. She laid on the floor for several days and was seriously ill by the time she was found. She spent 6 weeks in the hospital and returned temporarily to the apartment. On October 18th Phil, Deb and Tom moved her to Bridgeport Connecticut. The move took place during a harrowing storm that produced torrential rain and flooding along the entire East Coast.
In Mid-October, 1996 Arlene sufered a heart attack and underwent an angioplasty. She spent 7 weeks in the hospital before returning to her Bridgeport apartment.
