a. Note:   Murder Last evening, about 10 o'clock, an altercation occurred between two boys, white and colored, at the corner of Green and Little Paca streets, when the latter drew a dirk knife and stabbed the former, whose name was Edward Skinner, about 13 years old, in the right lung, causing almost instant death. The unfortunate youth was conveyed to his parents residence, in Hanover near Hill street. The murderer is still at large. An inquest was held but we have not heard the verdict.

  Mayor's Office, City Hall, Baltimore, June 25, 1856 Proclamation TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS REWARD Whereas a most foul and unprovoked murder was committed on Wednesday evening, the 18th inst., about half past 9 o'clock, in this city, in South Paca street, opposite Warner, on the body of EDWARD SKINNER, I do hereby, by virtue of the authority in me vested, offer a reward of TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS for the apprehension and conviction of the murderer or murderers. SAMUEL HINKS, Mayor.
 An additional reward of ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS will be given by the undersigned.
