Notes
a. Note:   For now, I am assuming that Araminta Shrewsbury Lilly was the mother of George W. Shrewsbury and his siblings. George's 1950 obituary lists her living children as his surviving siblings. In the book, PIONEERS OF WEST VIRGINIA WITH SHREWSBURY, GRAHAM, HOWERTON, MCKINNEY AND ALLIED FAMILIES by Doris (Graham) Slaughter Martha Shrewsbury was a child of Daniel Boone and Celia (Lilly) Shrewsbury. Because George W. Shrewsbury lived with Aaron and Martha (Shrewsbury) Bolen in 1900 and he was listed as Aaron's brother-in-law, George is also listed with Daniel and Celia's children. I believe that there is a good chance that Martha J. Bolen was actually another of the children of Araminta. In the 1900 census Araminta was listed as the mother of 8 living children. Five were living with her, and Martha and George were living nearby, and Anna was married to Wiliam Henry Wood by that time and also lived nearby.
I am not assuming that Aaron (Oron, Aron) Lilly was the father of all of all of Minta's children even though many of their death certificates listed him as their father. George's marriage license with Gertie Rose in 1947 lists his parents names as Daniel and Mina Shrewsbury. "Mina" could be Araminta, but who was Daniel? Was that a mistake?
