Notes
a. Note:   Marriage is registered "Germany, Brandenburg and Posen, Church Book Duplicates, 1794-1874," index v146 - 148, page 46, film 1273009, folder 004109918, image 00532. Came out from Hamburg on the La Rochelle on 7 August 1863 to Brisbane with family. Became naturalised in 1868. Carl owned block 271 on Ooha Creek.
Leberenz was the spelling of the surname in Germany, but in Australia it is usually spelt Lebrenz, but it has also been spelt Leibrenz (on Marguaritha's Bc) and Lebrentz (on inquest of Carl's death). Also Librenz and Lebranz have been seen.
Carl commited suicide after leaving his home at Beenleigh by train and then walking into the channel at Labrador Road, Southport. This was caused by the action of his daughter Amelia and her husband August Musch in swindling him as well as Amelia lying to her parents, Carl and Minna. His body was found at Curragee, Stradbroke by police constable Robert Christie and by Carl's son-in-law, Ferdinand Berg.
