 Since at least 1823 Breach and son, fishmongers were listed in Pigot's business directorty at 4 commercial road, Hastings.Frederick was still residing with his first wife Elizabeth at 4 Commercial Road, Hastings on the 3/4th April 1881 Census. (** note
 surname mistranscibed as Breads in the census index) By this time he was 30 years of age and listed as fishmonger employing two men. Business must have been relatively prosperous as they employed a general servant, 20 year old Hastings lass Martha
 Lesson. Also in the house at cenus night was 20 year old boarder Frank Golden who was listed as a Draper.Frederick's wife Elizabeth passed away sometime after the 1881 census and prior to his second marriage to a local 34 year old Hastings woman
 Harriet Ann Grant on the 11th May 1886. A william breach witnessed the wedding , this would have been Fredericks oldest brother.The 1891 Census carried out on the 5th & 6th April again had Frederick,fishmonger and employer, at 4 Commercial road with
 wife Harriet and 4 year old son Fred and 1 year old daughter Hilda. A local Hastings girl 18 year old Rhoda Watson was employed as a general servant and was residing at the same address. F.Breach was listed as fish salesman and oyster bar in 1896 and
 in 1900 just as fish salesmen.
