Note: Sidney Peter Bergeron, 65, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Houma, died at 1:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 1991.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 10 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until funeral time at the Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 10 a.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home Chapel with interment in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Duplantis Bergeron; his stepmother, Mary Bourg Bergeron of Houma; two sons, Gilford Bergeron of Houma and Jesse Bergeron of Pascagoula, Miss.; four stepsons, Hubert Dupre Jr. of Shreveport, Carl, Chris and Terry Dupre, all of Houma; three daughters, Mrs. Eric (Suzanne) Bergeron of Thibodaux, Mrs. Thomas (Mona) Deshaies of New Orleans and Mrs. Herb (Sydney Ann) Gros of Houma; one stepdaughter Mrs. Philip (Claudette) Cunningham of Houma; four brothers, Perry and John T. Bergeron, both of Houma, David and Gene Bergeron, of Bourg; seven sisters, Suzanne Hryniewith and Ruth Pitre, both of Houma, Mrs. J.C. (Rachael) Haydel of Gray, Mrs. Edward (Ruby) Ellender of Bourg, Patsy Bergeron of Bayou Blue, Benny (Myrtle) Bergeron of Coteau and Mrs. David (Judy) Durocher of Raceland; 16 grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and three great step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John J. and Elda Babin Bergeron; four brothers, Roland, Carol, Marty and Huey Bergeron; and two sisters, Melba Bergeron and Celina Carlos.
He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and an Army Veteran of World War II.
