  Left Germany from the Port of Bremen - Arrived in USA at Ellis Island, New York on July 26, 1901. On the ship were her mother and step-father Dorothea and Bernard Eckhardt, and half-siblings Bruno, M, age 6; Wedwig, F, age 4; Lyddi, F, age 3; Ana, F, age 2; and Elsa, F, age 11 months. Ethnicity of all was "German" and Place of Residence was listed as "Colditz, Sn."
 On the Ship Manifest, she is listed as Elise Brandan, F, age 20. No record that she was ever formally adopted by Bernard Eckhardt has been found but she did use the name of "Eckhardt" after arriving in America.
  Note: Identity of her natural father was never revealed.
