Notes
a. Note:   Stella Lawson Boothe, in her Boothe Family Book, published in 1955, had the following to say about Russell Crawford Boothe:
"Russell enlisted in the Confederate Army at Gonzales on May 8, 1862. He served in company C, Calvary Battalion, under Gen. Forrester, and immediately under Capt. B.F. Weeks. He was stationed in Mississippi for some time in 1864 and was mustered out of the army at Victoria on Aug. 1, 1865 by Gen. E. Kirby Smith.
Russell Crawford Boothe hauled lumber from Giddings by ox cart to build his first two-room house in Travis Co. He became a large land owner in the county and also owned land in Caldwell and other counties of the state. He was a dairyman and sold milk in Austin when he had to ford the Colorado River for there were no bridges over the Colorado River then. He was a Mason, joining the Onion Creek Masonic Lodge early in 1870."
